prior to your arrival in Essen and as soon as possible after acceptance: • a cv with a photo • a copy of the visa of the German embassy • proof of a health insurance valid in Germany upon your arrival in Essen and before starting the fellowship: • proof of a sufficient immunity to Rubella, Measles, Mumps and Varicella proven by vaccination records and current lab tests/titer is mandatory • current status regarding Hepatits A, B and C proven by recent lab tests/titer is mandatory • negative testing for Tuberculosis proven by negative PPD, negative Quantiferon testing or Chest X-Ray is mandatory • proof of a sufficient immunity to Hepatitis B, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Acellular Pertussis by vaccination records is strongly recommended but not mandatory Special requirements concerning COVID-19: • proof of a negative result for a test not older than 24h (antigen) or 48h (PCR) regardless of your vaccination status is mandatory • or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 in the form of a positive COVID-19 viral test on a sample taken no more than 90 days prior to arrival and a letter from a licensed healthcare provider or public health official stating that you have been cleared for travel and • proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 is mandatory (please note that we will only accept vaccinations with Corminaty® from BioNTech/Pfizer, Spikevax® from Moderna, Vaxzevria® from AstraZeneca, JCOVDEN/COVID-19 vaccine Janssen® from Janssen Cilag International/Johnson & Johnson or Nuvaxovid® from Novavax) • or fully vaccinated with a vaccination not approved in the European Union (EU) such as e.g. SinoVac® from Sinovac Biotech or Sputnik V/Gam-COVID-Vac® from Biocad and boostered with one of the above mentioned in the EU approved vaccinations • or proof of being excepted from the requirement to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 due to medical reasons/contraindications Please provide all health related records/lab results prior to your arrival as scans via e-mail if applicable. If this is not possible we can arrange an appointment with our Dept. of Occupational Health upon your arrival, the results of the lab tests will usually need three days. Please note that you will not be allowed to start the fellowship until you have fulfilled all of the above mentioned criteria!
