The CSSS is the only comprehensive spinal management hub in the United Kingdom. In addition to a broad spectrum of surgical exposure to spinal pathology in all age groups, we also offer an excellent opportunity to observe the management of the full spectrum of emergency spinal referrals and admissions (tumor, trauma, infection/ inflammation) with a combined orthopedics spinal and neuro-surgical input. Additionally, the service organization will allow the visitor/ observer to experience the novel incorporation of other specialties within ours. health care of the elderly physicians is present frequently and contribute to the decision make for some of our alder patients while multiple multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings done regularly provide an exceptional platform for optimizing the care of some of the more complex cases with the help of radiology, anesthetics, paediatrics and intensivists. The visitor will also be able to observe, first hand, new and efficient systems for managing an ever-increasing regional emergency spinal service with daily spinal emergency MDTs and an outstanding emergency spinal assessment unit largely run by advanced physiotherapy practitioners working in collaboration with the on call surgical team.
